Best Dark Matters Tier List - NBA 2K26 MyTeam

Feb-27-2026 PST

In NBA 2K26 MyTEAM, Dark Matter cards represent the upper echelon of player items. At this stage of the cycle, we’re no longer asking whether a card is usable — we’re debating separation, animations, badge loadouts, player models, and competitive viability in modes like Unlimited and King of the Court.

This tier list focuses strictly on the most relevant and impactful Dark Matters currently circulating in MyTEAM. Not every single card is included. The emphasis here is on the meta-defining options and the most commonly used high-end cards.

Let’s break it down tier by tier.

S Tier – Elite, Meta-Defining Cards

These are the Dark Matters that legitimately alter games. If you’re building a competitive lineup, these are the anchors.

Kristaps Porziņģis

Still one of the most dominant cards in the game. The combination of size, shooting, defensive presence, and fluid movement makes him arguably the most complete big. He edges out most power forwards and even some centers due to his versatility.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Elite defensively, elite in transition, and still oppressive attacking the rim. For competitive play, Giannis remains a nightmare matchup. He’s on the same tier as the absolute best wings in the game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

The best point guard in NBA 2K26 MyTEAM right now—three-level scoring, elite defensive capability (which is underrated), and smooth movement. If you’re spending big NBA 2K MT on a guard, this is the one.

Victor Wembanyama

An elite-tier center. While some may prefer Porziņģis or Yao archetypes for specific lineups, Wemby’s length and defensive range are absurd. The only real drawback is price.

A Tier – High-Level Competitive Cards

These cards are strong enough to carry games, but don’t quite hit the “auto-include” status of S Tier.

LeBron James

Regardless of card tier — Galaxy Opal, Pink Diamond, or Dark Matter — LeBron always plays above average. He’s arguably the best pure small forward option and remains extremely impactful.

Tim Duncan

One of the most reliable power forwards in the game. Elite interior defense, strong finishing, and dependable mechanics. He’s just a step below Porziņģis in overall dominance.

Devin Booker

A strong scoring guard with elite offensive upside. Movement and shot creation are there. Even if you’re not elite with dribbling, Booker can compete at a high level.

Lauri Markkanen

Seven feet tall with guard-like offensive capability. Size alone elevates his value in this meta.

Luol Deng

Incredibly underrated. The updated release significantly boosted his viability. Borderline S Tier if you value two-way wings heavily.

Christian Laettner

A very complete power forward option. Strong stat profile and usable animations across the board.

B Tier – Strong but Not Meta-Breaking

These players are absolutely usable but lack that extra separation factor.

· Shaquille O'Neal – Dominant inside, but limited by shooting and release.

· Kevin Garnett – Great defensively; slightly below Duncan in overall impact.

· David Robinson – Balanced big with strong interior presence.

· Ron Artest – Solid 3-and-D archetype.

· Brandon Roy – Good release, strong defense, but not elite.

· Glenn Rice – Offensive upside is nice, but no major separation.

· Zach LaVine – Comparable to other mid-tier shooting guards.

· Cade Cunningham – Good overall guard, but slightly overrated in competitive discussions.

· Jerry Stackhouse – Fun card, solid scorer, just not elite.

C Tier – Usable but Limited

These cards can compete but require the right system or player skill to maximize.

· Kawhi Leonard

· Richard Hamilton

· Nick Collison

· Jim Jackson

· Kirk Hinrich

· Evan Turner

· James Harden

· Josh Smith

· Nikola Jokić

Solid cards. Just not game-changing.

D Tier – Outclassed in the Current Meta

These Dark Matters are either outdated, poorly animated, or simply surpassed by alternatives.

· Carmelo Anthony

· Russell Westbrook

· Luka Dončić

· Larry Bird

· Blake Griffin

· De'Aaron Fox

· Baron Davis

· Jaylen Rose

· Al Horford

· Jaylen Brown

· Domantas Sabonis

· Victor Oladipo

These cards aren’t unplayable — they’re just outpaced by the current power curve.

The Shooting Guard Problem

One major takeaway from this tier list: Dark Matter shooting guards are underwhelming. There isn’t a single Dark Matter SG clearly in A or S Tier. In fact, many players are still leaning toward elite Galaxy Opals or special-tier cards at that position because the Dark Matters haven’t delivered the same separation we’re seeing at point guard, small forward, or center. That says a lot about the current MyTEAM balance.

Final Thoughts

The Dark Matter tier in NBA 2K26 MyTEAM is deep — but not all Dark Matters are created equal. Size, animations, releases, and defensive impact matter more than raw stats at this point in the game cycle.

If you’re building competitively:

· Lock in an elite PG (SGA).

· Prioritize size at forward (Giannis / LeBron).

· Anchor your frontcourt with KP or Wemby.

Everything else comes down to preference and playstyle. As always, tier lists are subjective — but when evaluating cards at this level, the difference between S Tier and B Tier often comes down to one thing: separation in competitive play.
