NBA 2k21 MyLeague: Next Generation UpdatesDec-23-2020 PST
Visual Concepts and 2K Sports dropped the 22nd episode of the NBA 2K21 basketball simulator in late 2020. Available initially for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Stadia, they are next generation releases for the new PlayStation 5 and for them the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles in November 2020.
What is NBA 2K21 MyNBA?
MyLeague has been a staple of NBA 2K games for quite some time now, but it's slightly different from the next-gen 2K21. Now known as MyNBA, this game mode is a mix of classic MyLeague, MyLeague Online and MyGM modes with some new features. Like MyLeague, MyNBA allows you to make decisions that affect not only individual NBA players or teams, but the entire Basketball League. For example, you can assemble influential rookie squads, trade a free superstar player or agent, and transfer teams as you please. This game mode brings some big differences that are worth noting.
New control measures
Fans of playing NBA 2K20 and earlier in MyLeague mode will find that users have more control over MyNBA mode for Next Generation 2K21. All the functions of the previous modes are available, but users can turn them on and off to customize their gameplay. Users can now set specific controls for various aspects of online basketball tournaments. The new activity log also helps the users to track their movements and transactions.
New feature to adjust competition rules
The League Rules Customizer is a completely new feature for the next generation 2K21 game. In the past, users had to sit in off-season competition meetings to change the rules of the game. It was also limited by just five rule changes per year. Now users can change as many rules as they want, as many as they want. These rules set the ceiling of team salaries, player trade and contracts, fouls and lotteries.
The ability to delete teams
For the first time, next generation players can also remove teams from their league. A new addition to the Custom League feature, allows users to create a league with 12 teams or up to 36 teams. The ability to create a smaller league allows users to recreate old NBA leagues and focus on smaller leagues.
Greater representation of WNBA
Male athletes won't get all of the attention in the new game either, as all 12 WNBA teams are represented in NBA 2K21. For the first time ever, you can make the same moves for female players as for male players. We first saw female players in NBA 2K19, but their role was fully expanded in 2K21.
The G League is back
After being largely absent from NBA 2K for the past few years, save for a few fleeting negative signs, the G League is back in full force in the next generation of NBA 2K21. MyNBA mode allows you to play a full G League match schedule. There are also full G League management options to take care of the next generation of players.
How to Get the Most Out of NBA 2K21 Next-Gen MyNBA
Investing in a new generation console and a new game like NBA 2K21 isn't cheap, so you want to get the most out of it. These tips will help shorten your learning curve and give you the best gaming experience quickly.
Play on HDTV with Game Mode
Next-generation NBA 2K21 consoles look great visually, but only if you're playing games on a TV in HD and some serious processing power. The best TVs have a Game Mode, which deactivates many of the picture processing functions to reduce input lag.
Spend some time familiarizing yourself with the game
Many users feel comfortable playing in one way and never explore the game's full potential. These players end up losing a lot of what the game has to offer. Spend some time exploring MyNBA mode and trying out different features and capabilities. Find out which changes you need to change and what your preferences are. Play with leagues of different sizes so you can see what looks normal.
Turn on automatic updates
Developers will continue to improve NBA 2K21 until next year's release. We already know that the initial release will not add "start from today" functionality until the NBA season starts on December 22. Enabling automatic updates ensures that you get the latest features as soon as they are available. Make sure both auto download and auto install are turned on in rest mode to fetch updates when they drop.
Can you continue with NBA 2K21 Next-Gen MyNBA?
Unfortunately, you cannot track your progress from a previous NBA 2K release to the new NBA 2K21 MyNBA mode. This includes the progress made on the standard NBA 2K21 edition in MyLeague mode with your NBA 2K21 MT Coins.
NBA 2K21 Next Generation Hit System
NBA 2K21's Next Generation Injury System makes you feel like you're part of the action. The game uses enhancements such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback features on the new DualSense controller for PlayStation 5. Now when players collide, user consoles vibrate according to the intensity of the effect and the size of the players. When players get tired or injuries weaken their movements, users will feel more resistance when the enemy launches. This smart change helps users really understand the health of their players and make the right changes to get the best out of their teams.
