NBA 2K26 MyTeam Homecoming Cards Review

Mar-18-2026 PST

NBA 2K26’s latest content drop brings a set of Homecoming cards into MyTeam, featuring Galaxy Opals like Cory McGetty, Karan Butler, Joe Kim Noah, Glenn Robinson, and Kyrie Irving. If I’m being honest, I’m not super excited about this drop. The odds on the Super Packs are dismal, which means even though these cards are interesting, they’re hard to get and likely overpriced on the auction block. Nonetheless, we’re here to break down the potential of each card and weigh in on whether they’re worth adding to your lineup or not.

Cory McGetty (Galaxy Opal)

Positives:

Cory McGetty offers a solid all-around package: a 92 three-ball, 95 driving dunk, and decent speed/agility. As a shooting guard, his 6'6" frame is comfortable in most lineups. His defensive stats are "okay," and his dribble moves, while not incredible, are serviceable. The real highlight here is the Kevin Knox release on very quickly, which could make him a fun card to shoot with.

Negatives:

However, the biggest issue with McGetty is the pack odds. Since we’re dealing with Super Packs, pulling McGetty as opposed to another Galaxy Opal is going to be a challenge. For the price he’s likely to command, McGetty’s performance is good, but not game-changing. He’s on the same level as some other Galaxy Opal shooting guards, like Mike Miller, and if you’re picking him up hoping for a hidden gem, he probably won’t deliver on that promise. He’s solid but doesn’t blow you away.

Verdict: Fine, but not exciting.

Karan Butler (Galaxy Opal)

Positives:

Karan Butler offers a little more size with his 6'7" frame. He comes with hot spots from everywhere and a respectable 94 three-ball and 90 driving dunk. Defensively, he’s fairly solid, which gives him versatility on both ends of the floor. On offense, his Kobe escape, and the Kevin Knox base on very quick are plus points, especially for those who like shooting off the dribble.

Negatives:

While Butler is a solid option, he doesn’t do anything that stands out from other shooting guards. His dribble sigs are functional, but nothing extraordinary. His release is nice, but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before, and the price might be steep given the cards in circulation.

Verdict: Solid, but not a must-have. If you’re a fan of Butler, he’ll play well, but otherwise, there are better options out there.

Kyrie Irving (Galaxy Opal)

Positives:

Kyrie’s name alone will get some attention, but let’s be real here: this card just isn’t good. Sure, it has a 90+ three-ball and the ability to hit a jumper, but defensively, he’s a liability with only 62 defense. His 80 driving dunk isn’t anything to write home about either.

Negatives:

Honestly, this card is underwhelming in a lot of areas. The dribble moves are fine, but Kyrie’s value in MyTeam has always been a bit limited. If you love Kyrie in real life, this card might be fun to use for nostalgia’s sake, but it’s not going to help you compete at a high level. Additionally, given the inevitable high price tag due to his name, the card is an overpriced choice for what you get.

Verdict: Skip it. If you want to use Kyrie in MyTeam, try to look for a more affordable alternative.

Glenn Robinson (Galaxy Opal)

Positives:

Now we’re talking. Glenn Robinson brings the goods with a 95 three-point rating, 90 driving dunk, and good speed/agility. Standing at 6'7" with a 6'10" wingspan, Robinson has the ideal size for a shooting guard. The real upside to this card is the fact that he gets PJ Tucker’s release very quickly, which could make him a really solid offensive threat.

Negatives:

While his jumper is excellent, his dribble skills leave much to be desired. His ball handling is a bit stiff, and his lack of flashy moves could limit his effectiveness on offense compared to other top-tier shooting guards. But with that solid release and all-around scoring ability, he’s still going to be good.

Verdict: Solid offensive weapon, but watch out for the price. He’s likely going to be on the expensive side.

Joe Kim Noah (Galaxy Opal)

Positives:

Joe Kim Noah has the potential to be a beast at the center/power forward position. With a solid 93 defensive rating, 95 rebounding, and a height of 6'11", he’s a force in the paint. His dribble sigs are better than expected for a big man, especially with the inclusion of Zach LaVine’s dribble style and a solid release. Noah’s dunking and defense are reliable, which makes him a great option for a physical, defensive-minded squad.

Negatives:

Despite his strengths, the problem with Noah is that Bam Adebayo is available for free and does many of the same things for a fraction of the cost. Noah’s dunk package isn’t amazing, and his motion style could be smoother. But ultimately, he’s not worth the price he’s likely to fetch in the market.

Verdict: Good but overpriced. If you’re a huge fan of Noah, go for it, but he’s not a top-tier value.

Final Thoughts on the Homecoming Cards

Overall, this drop in Galaxy Opals is fine, but not groundbreaking. While cards like Glenn Robinson and Joe Kim Noah have potential, the Super Pack odds make it incredibly difficult to feel excited about pulling these cards. And with other free or cheaper options out there, it’s tough to justify the high prices these players are likely to carry.

If you’re an avid MyTeam player and looking for solid additions, these cards can work, but they’re far from must-haves. Be sure to weigh their prices against what other cards can offer before diving NBA 2K26 MT into these Super Packs.

Recommendation: If you’re looking for a solid shooting guard, Glenn Robinson could be worth the risk—just be ready for that high price tag. As for the others, they’re fine, but don’t break the bank unless you're a die-hard fan of the player.
