NBA 2K is a basketball simulation video game series produced and released annually since 1999. The goal of every game in the series is to simulate basketball, specifically the National Basketball Association. Sega Sports previously released the series, and 2K Sports is currently releasing the series. Visual Concepts created all the games in the series.


The series features 23 major edits and titles in various derivative styles. It is available on 18 different platforms. The NBA 2K series is also used in eSports. Their main rival is EA Sports' NBA Live, which was mothballed by NBA Live 19 in 2018.
